I don't think so.. Reading his past threads it is obvious he knows nothing about the minting process and how true errors occur and how varieties are attributed. He's a frustrated individual that doesn't get the response he wants to hear. He will probably curse me out now for what I just stated but I really don't care. We will just keep reporting him until he is banned. By the way.. That 1996 looks horrendously filthy!
So in my research last night I came across a 1996 WAM that is posted on the Lincoln Cent Resource. It says it was found in 2009 and is the only one that has been found, but was supposedly stolen from the person who found it shortly after it's discovery. My question is is this for real or was it a fraudulent find? http://www.lincolncentresource.com/Featured/1996WideAM.html None of the links in the article go to what they say they do and the magazine that is linked looks to be more of a celebrity gossip magazine not a coin mag. This find is also mentioned in this article https://varietyerrors.com/coins/wide-am-and-close-am-lincoln-varieties/ It says the discovery was stolen during a robbery outside a coin show and was never authenticated. @paddyman98 have you ever heard of this one?
He's probably not around anymore to curse you out. And his profile is not available so I can't check his older posts. I had the same thought as @Nyati. Replies sounded familiar.
Thank you for saying what needed to be said. Sometimes people just need to be put in their place, even if they don't like or agree with what they're hearing, when they could be learning from it. Much respect.
Your Welcome. I wish that ya'll could've seen the posts he edited before he edited them. They were so rude and full of profanity that I was afraid to quote him on those. Thought I would get a smack on the hand from the mods for quoting replies that had profanity in them. What I put in my reply was just the tip of the iceberg of how rude this guy was. I am very glad that the mods only edited and not just deleted his last reply so everyone could get a small taste of what this guy was all about. Not sure which mod did that but kudos to whomever it was.
OK I see I misread the Lincoln Cent resource, the proofs (from 1996) are supposed to be WAM but the business strikes are CAM.
Hard to say. The person who claimed to have found it was knowledgeable and should know what it was, but since it was never verified, and no other specimen has ever shown up its legitimacy is in doubt.
The point where the A & M....meet? Always thought was the inability to get the point of a #2 Pencil THRU those two points of 'almost total contact with another letter?' A trial almost anyone can do like those RUSSIAN cosmonaughts when they wanted a special instrument to write upside down and in all directions...a number #2 LEADED pencil....after doing the same which which the Russians did....do you know what NASA came up with...(no joke at all)....they ACTUALLY spent in researching alone? The cost of each and every pen which they came up with was priced at $28,000.00 per PEN? Interesting in how some people value personal things like THOSE? Hostility when not the subject nor the role in getting the right information to the PEOPLE...otherwise, why NOT pick on somebody else....especially when your own expertise may be a problem for you....people do not like listening to people who will broach no new information....they already know what they KNOW....and NOTHING will change their mind?....there yah go? Does that make any sense to you when somebody attacks you...and it seems like they do NOT know exactly what they are saying...enough that YOU take charge and ignore such folks....useless arguments honor noBODDDyyyyyy?
