Here is a very informative link which was written by Scott Travers, back in 1990. Looks like a LOT of eye-opening information for your enjoyment. Get an easy chair, it's a long read... http://www.coingrading.com/intro1.html Here is a very useful chart to help determine the strike on your Morgan Dollars... Sorry, it's all jumbled together, but if you look you will see there is a strike report for every date/MM. edited
Sorry about adding the Morgan Dollar Strike graph. I thought the forum rules stated it was Okay to add a portion of an article, just not the whole thing. Some clarification would be helpful. Ben
No problem guys, I felt it's an important addition to the grading discussions which have popped up here of late. Here is the LINK to the Morgan Dollar Strike graph, so you can get an idea of the reported strikes on your coins. http://www.coingrading.com/strike1.html
A portion of an article is a few sentences or a small paragraph. I have posted examples of this numerous times. But posting the link, like you did in your last post is the best way to go.
Spot on, - my interpretation of earlier standards was obviously off. Please accept my apologies... Take Care Ben
