Blank Planchets

    Just picked these up a couple of weeks ago. I just can't tell which side is the obverse and which side is the reverse. It is copper though.

    You can't tell? It's easy! The obverse is the one that is struck by the obverse die.

    Based upon the placement of the staples in the flip.... I deem photo #1 as the obverse..... Next problem please.

    Or.. Send It to a TPG.. However they mount it the front of the slab would be the Obverse and the back of the slab is the Reverse ;)

    There was a member once who thought Mint Marks were added to the coin after they were struck. Can you even imagine that. It would take eons just to accomplish such a task! :bucktooth:

    If that was true the Mint would still be putting mintmarks on 2018 coins.I'll admit to memory lapses but not in this case. Lol
