Hello everyone.... I was wanting a lil help once again... Could I please get some insight on this Lincoln Cent??? N yes yes I already know.. "" IF I HAVE TO ASK, ITS NOT THE ONE""" THANKS N GOD BLESS EVERYONE.
Ok, someone posted a pic of the coin you are looking for in that other thread. Does this coin look like that one?
It *is* a 1969 S. but the major DDO is So *OBVIOUS* that one doesn't even have to ask. So just by asking I'd guess the answer is No. and looking at the pictures the answer is still No. Don't look at the date initially. Look at In GOD WE TRUST initially.
Is there a rule about how many post I can put up about a certain date?? I mean at the end of the day what's it to you???
Being in the education field, one wants people to learn and grow with information. Researching really any and everything one can learn how to improve someone else's understanding based upon PAST (as we don't know the future) methods that were used. Of course, there are a wide variety of people who post about coins with a wide variety of interest of just getting an answer versus posters who want to learn and grow. So ... it means *a lot* by checking someone's past posts. thus when I did a brief check I added this line to my post above "Don't look at the date initially. Look at In GOD WE TRUST initially." as I want you to redirect your efforts to look at IGWT and not the date. The IGWT is much more obvious than looking at the date.
Ok. Thanks Paddyman. I appreciate it.. I'll keep trying never losing the faith u know. Have a good one brotha✊
If you keep posting about a specific variety for the same date/mintmark without learning how to tell which is which, others will just get tired of it and stop responding to your threads. ~ Chris
After 11 posts asking if you have a 1969-S DDO, it almost appears that you are expecting CT members to do all the work for you. Have you not compared your coins to the pics provided? This should be one of the easier doubled dies to verify, even with minimal experience. I am getting the impression that you are just posting every 69-S you get. Why do the work yourself when you can have other people do it for you. Sorry for being harsh. Most of us enjoy helping new collectors learn and grow in the hobby, but I don’t see you making any effort on your own. At some point, holding out a handful of random coins and asking if anything is valuable, gets old to those trying to help. This is why I’m adding you to my Do Not Respond list. Best of luck moving forward.
One of the inherent problems is some clickbait websites make it seem as though ANY 69-S *is* a DDO 1. Thus the disregard to replies as they put more truth to something that they *want to be true* versus reality. This is normally where it's just best to tell 'em to send it in to grading/authentication. It seems once people start spending their own money and finding out that something isn't jiving, then it makes them think deeper than a very loose correlation and start being more protective of their lost cash, thus pay more attention. After all, after 51 years there has only been about 60 (sixty) ?? 1969 S DDOs that have been found with an estimated 100 reaching circulation. And people don't realize, they were first discovered in 1970 and thus have been searched forever since. Of course one may then wonder why only 60ish? . then you get into die life, quality control checks .. the ending of the minting process .. and then they start learning the realities of coin collecting. The neat thing I didn't realize, was the discoveries were down the street from me at stores that I have peruse in. https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=233860&whichpage=2 This kinda makes me want to check my hoard that I've been storing since the 1970s. Maybe I'll give a batch to Rick Stachowski to review or maybe we'll raid local estate sales .. or maybe not. LOL
Keep looking and posting!! It does get old but hey that’s way everyone is here for... I just hope by the 22 post of ‘69 s ddo you will finally get it...but until then... study this and what clawcoin posted...
