    Just picked up both of these from the Agora sale this week. My first Hogmouth although it's not a Thaler. Still waiting for the right one to come along.

    Well the first is a Warwickshire halfpenny token dating to 1790 and featuring the bust of Shakespeare on the obverse and a female seated with mining equipment on the reverse. There are a number of variations depending on the edge lettering, but I doubt you can read much of that in this case.
    They are not particularly scarce and in that condition not much monetary value, but interesting history.

    Those are some nice examples. From what I understand many of these were rubbed with leather aprons at the mint. You can often see those wipe marks and I think your examples here are much nicer than your run of the mill pieces. I would love just perfect matte pieces but it seems that most were messed with. The shilling stands out as especially nice.

    I also love Irish coins being just got dual citizenship. Got 3 or 4 in the 70's when we took grandmother back. Last year went back to Easkey and look for and at in shops in Sligo but didn't find anything special.
