Did anyone else happen to catch this one - $350,000!!! http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/15...007QQitemZ170240517979QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
I have been watching all of them, smiling at times and shaking my head at other times. This one was a smile !!
Yeah but you have to admit that is one hell of a coin. A unique coin and forgive my toning obsession intruding, but to find a steel cent with toning that attractive is virtually impossible. And this is a unique error coin from the wrong year with that toning. Just incredible.
Aw maaaaan, I was sure it was mine with $150 ebay bid. Fresh coin. Maybe 'twas someone on here n they are going to do a contest for it. :smile Check out the 3c silvers as well. WOW ps. just a thought. Wonder how long it would be in circulation if the winner used it to pay for something before someone noticed.
I am really interested in the ICG MS-65 RD 1926-S they have, last I looked it was about 13K.......far below the last sale of the PCGS 65RD.
WOW, they have changed it since I looked last night. I am finishing up the final little details in my interior painting, and just checking in when out back for a smoke. $15 K for a 26-S 65RD? Well, theres the accuracy of your grade right there , even a oddball slab like an SGS would fetch big bucks IF IT WERE a 65-RD.........my greysheet shows $75,000 at 65 RD and $16,500 for 64RD. hmmmmmmm, you'd think ICG would buy this just to hide it, lol
FWIW, the last ICG 65 sold for $13,800 (June), the last PCGS 64 RD went for $14,950. Kind of sounds like they think it is 64 RD.
The coin's description says there is no damage, however it looks to me like the second "T" in STATES has a hit on the upper left end of the crossbar.
Someone likes Lincoln cents a lot more than I do. I prefer women on my coins, so I guess that limits me to the 18th and 19th centuries for American coins. And BTW I am serious: Lettered edge variety.
If you look closely at the coin, there is also a nick on the cheek, jaw, and coat. The coat also has a fair amount of chatter. However, I would not consider any of these significant enough to be called damage. BTW, I cannot tell for sure what is with the "T", but I do not believe it is a nick. It looks more like a stain (drool?) to me.
Awesome Large 1c... but I bet you already knew that. :thumb: There are plenty of ladies on 20th century US... Indian 1c, "V" nickel, all the Barbers (but they look like a man), Standing 25c, Walking 50c, many of the $1s (Morgan, Peace, SBA, Sac), all the $10 and $20 gold...
