This probably old news to most of you but, I don't follow the quarter program and just read about this new program that looks like may pass. Would start in 2010 at the conclusion of the State quarter program and could run 22 years! I guess that is good for the hobby since the quarter program has brought a lot of new collectors into the hobby. My only problem is with all the different programs the mint is getting into how many issues a year will there be? Between the Dollars and quarters, proof - unc -satin, Clad - silver, upcomming cent designs. How many coins will someone have to buy to have a year set?

right questin will be at 369 per year (in melt value) how many $ would you need for a 110 coin program (potential)

Hopefully with the focus on these the cost of state quarters might drop.

A 1999 Silver proof set just finished on ebay at $2100

I think the national sites designs could be nice and interesting, but I would like to see a standard quarter circulate along sine. preferably a new design. I would like to see a new eagle on the reverse or liberty back on the obverse or something. It's just time for a change.

A couple of commems a year are fine, but these stupid quarters and dollars are a mess. I wonder how many people started collecting the state quarters and the Prexibux then stopped due to lack of interests, and lousy designs on the coins?

Oh Sheeeesh, enough already. Enough circulating "commemoratives" that look like crap.

I went with the state quarters (business strikes only), but that's it.
Well, not quite. I did the nickels too.

But I said "No" to the Presidential dollars.

IF I collect the National Parks quarters, it will be from circulation.
Not going to pay a premium; not going to worry about grade.

I agree. Change in a lot of things. In fact, with the exception of the $1 coin, all the designs have been around a l-o-o-o-o-n-g time. Too long.

New obverse designs across the board would be nice.

I think part of the problem is our addiction to controversy. Embracing and feeding resentment is somehow a good thing and a way of getting what you want. Any new designs would probably inflame some folks. Too much screaming. :headbang:

It's easier to stick with existing designs.
