I had the opportunity to purchase this coin and passed. I have regretted that decision ever since. It is a 1937 50c PCGS MS67 Superbly Toned Antietam Commem. This has got to be one of the most beautifully toned early commemoratives in existence.

You are speaking of the Oregon Trail commemorative and there are many many phenomenal toned examples. Infact, there is a PCGS registry set (San Diego Collection) that has some of the most phenomenal high grade toned Oregon's in existence. The set is truly unbelievable. One of the absolute finest coin collections I have ever had the priviledge to see. I can't even imagine what the value of this collection is. All but two of the coins are top pops and he has not one but two, one of a kind MS69's. Just incredible. Anyway here is the link: http://pcgs.com/setregistry/alltimeset.aspx?s=43739

    Here's mine.
I rarely collect anything except business strikes.
    So, why this coin?
Mostly because there's that VERY annoying hole in my Morgan album.
BTW, I borrowed this image from an online site.
I think I'm allowed to do that if I don't try to profit in any way from its use.
Either that or I'll be getting my hand slapped (or worse) in the near future.

    Fair Use...

Posting an image using the link from it's original website is well in the law.

The law becomes more hazy when someone saves an image on their PC and then hosts it from a website seperate from the original source.
