Just bought this and will have it graded soon. Think I got a good price but will know more after you guys give me your grades on this coin. Appreciate all the help these forums have given me.

Posted too soon. Wanted to say I think it could be XF35-40. Just my version. Waiting for yours.

I think it's in the 30 range. It may make a 35. Looks like a small die crack just above her eye. The A in STATES is damaged and numerous letters in the other words are worn a bit. A nice clean coin and if I didn't have one I would buy this one. It's clean enough and the wear on the reverse is not enough to make me say no to it.

I could be wrong but it looks like this had an old cleaning and is starting to re-tone. Might get a details attribution. I still would not mind having it though.

I thought the same thing about a cleaning on his coin.

I'd call this an attractive VF-30, with a shot at 35. I don't think this has what it takes to make 40.

I don't see any evidence of cleaning in these pictures. Can you point out what you're seeing that makes you say this?

I think it has an upper chance of XF40. Full disclosure - I’m not an experienced grader, but that’s what I see using my Photograde app.

All the extremely low places like Mercury's wings and especially the laurel on the reverse. The rest of the coin is clean, not really clean but cleaner than these places. Looks like a lot of dirt in those low places.

    35 would be VF.

I am also in the VF camp 30 ish. Also see a cleaning, but it may not
    come back details.

Thinking the same as @Collecting Nut although I'm not positive. It's hard to see the fields looking for signs of abrasions as the photo appears a bit washed out. Not a bad photo by the way. It might have been dipped in a silver cleaning solution for a short spell, but I'm just guessing here. It's still a coin that would look good in an album but not for a TPG to justify the costs unless it was piggy backed on a special.

If it comes back problem free VF-30/35, this is a $300 - $400 coin. Absolutely worth it.

If it comes back genuine VF details, this coin will be far easier to sell than raw, given how highly counterfeited this date is.

Either way, I think the OP wins.

I also see it as a VF-35 with possible cleaning. This is one that would need to be seen in person.

VF 35 for sure with a good shot at XF 40. I'm not so sure that the cleaned look comes from the lighting.

The wing detail on the obverse should warrant an EF-45. No chance at a bean for those wondering.
