Hey guys, I am considering purchasing a small lot of silver coins, but thought I’d get some opinions first to see if it is worthwhile. The set would include:
    8 Barber Half Dollars
    7 Uncirculated Kennedy Half Dollars
    2 Columbus 1892 Half Dollars
    2000 Silver Eagle Dollar
    2000 .999 Olympic Coin
    1976 .999 Olympic Coin
    5 Standing Liberty Quarters
    Uncirculated Set of Mercury Dimes.

I’m wondering if any of you would be willing to opine at the value of this lot.

TBH, I wouldn't pay much, if any, over melt.

Can't make out enough from that photo to risk anything more than melt on any of it.

"Uncirculated" Mercury short sets can contain anything from FB gems (worth some premium) to cleaned/polished VFs.

The ".999 Olympic Coins" I can't evaluate without knowing what they are, how much they weigh, and whether they're actually solid .999 -- there are an awful lot of ".999 clad" or ".999 plated" throwaways.

Can't see the dates on the Kennedys, so don't know if they're all 1964, or if there's some 40%, or even some clad.

Can't see date/mint on the Barbers; can't even tell whether the SLQs have dates.

From that photo, I'd offer very low -- melt on the dimes, Barbers and SLQs, nothing on the ".999", melt on the ASE. I might take a leap of faith that all the Kennedys are at least 40%, and offer 4-5x FV.

Kennedy’s are 64s, barbers are melt value I’d assume due to condition. 1926-30 on the quarters, probably “good” condition. The $5 Olympic coins wouldn’t really be pure? I wouldn’t know how to even best calculate the melt value on this.
Update: leaving out the olympics, I get melt value at 171.34. Judging from the responses, the general opinion is not to offer anything more than this.

I should have said at the start assume poor condition.

Are you buying to collect or to stack silver?

In this case specifically I was looking to see if this would be a good quick flip.

No. Save your money if that’s what you’re aiming to do.

Figure out what the melt value is and compare to the asking price. If close enough, then try to work out a price.
