New CBH on the cheap

    Maybe the seller knew something I don't, but got this half for just over $50 a few days ago. I'm still trying to learn this set, but it seems like a nice coin to me. Pics aren't too great as the only thing I have that take close up pics is a video camera.

    Maybe Bone can fill me in on anything I missed besides the few small scratches.

    It's a good looking coin with a great strike, I wouldn't worry too much about the ding at 1:00. :thumb: If the pictures are natural (un photoshopped), you got your money's worth. :)

    I'm too lazy to photshop anything. Thats pretty close to it's color, aside from the weird rainbow effects my camera makes on corners. Thanks for the input.

    It's a scratch. There;s also one at about 1 o'clock.

    No, I just checked www.coinzip.com and started looking at the 1831s one after the other... :)

    I think you made an excellent purchase. The value may not leap up, but if you're collecting the series and in it for the long haul, you did great.
