I asked the teller at the bank a while back if they had any half dollars. The teller brought me 12.50 in what I thought were all 40% halfs. All except one. It really is too bad that it has been damaged. 64 D TDO There isn't a lot of circulation on the coin it still cartwheels. But the damage is unforgivable. Are the photos OK? I play with a camera but I don't drink Dos Equis unless I am at an Authentic Mexican restaurant.
To bad about the damage as that is an interest TDO. I just found one in my bullion coins this past month, only because another member posted one they found in their spare silver coins.
A cell phone with a magnifying lens from an old toy microscope held in place with an elastic. Very low tech. But I got three different lenses that I use.
Looks like you are getting the details, That's what really matters Nice TDO, do you have any full size Photos of the coin?
There are a few in the IKE series, Here is one of them. 72S http://www.ikegroup.info/DIVA listings/1972 S/2SB-302.pdf
Yes, Triple Die Obverse It doesn't happen very often, but there are others out there. There are even Quintuple Die Obverses.
I'm aware of a couple of Quadruple Dies (4x). I'm not aware of any Quintuples (5x). Can you post one? I'm really curious to see that! (Note: I'm not saying they don't exist - I'm saying I don't know them)
Caught me in a wrong word statement. You are right meant Four not Five, I have never heard of a five faced die. My bad.
I only buy in hand, if I was ever to find one of these, Quad or Quint struck coins you would be the first to see it.
