    31-S, I'll say XF-40, possibly a 45. And the 22, I'll say a nice XF-45, possibly AU? But I'm leaning more towards the 45. Nice coins! :thumb:

thank you Phoenix for your opinion. In your opinion would it be worth it to slab the 22-D as a weak D variety. IMHO it is a die pair #2 but waiting for more people to throw in. By the way i got these in an old Whitman i purchased for $100 dollars also included 2-1910-S 1911-D and S 1912-D and S 1913-D and S and also 1915-D and S. and the 1909 was a VDB in xf-au.

I'll agree with the grades and the dificulty of the woodies and pics. That was a nice $100 pick-up !!!

The 31-S will prolly bodybag for damage to the reverse tho.

oops didnt notice the notation that no coins came from die pair #2 with a mm. just seen the strong reverse note. the rest of the die pairs have a weak reverse noted. this coin has a nicely struck reverse with full detail and a barely discernable mm. could it be a EDS coin or a mixing of die pairs unknown to exist. lol i am really stretching huh. well thanks for the input guys....Jon

Mixing the die pairs would produce die pair #5. Sorry! For all their problems that year, I am sure that they also had grease filled dies to go with them.

BTW, what is an EDS coin?

Well dah! Sorry, I should have known.

I doubt if it is. Here is one that cones closer, but at least the front is not. The one Aj picked up might well be.

Looking at the one you posted and mine i would say they came from the same dies. mine is just harder to tell by the pics i took. but looking at it with the loupe everything appears the same. including the position of the mm. Btw thats a very nice coin.

    Hi Jon67,
Congrats! You really made out like a bandit on your selection.
The important thing to remember is that you "Have" them and can put them in your album.
My 31s slot is still empty, but getting one like yours for the 100$ would be great, reverse damage notwithstanding.

    rlm...
    that 22 weak D is a beauty.
Tell you what, I will trade you about a hundred pounds of copper cents for it? :D

Sorry, but that is not a weak "D". As we just went through, there is no such thing as a weak "D" with a strong reverse. BTW, you need to watch your math. I might take you up on that offer. I think that is about $450 you just offered for a coin worth $150 - $200.

Jon, you need to look at Arizona Jack's album. He has his 22-D posted there now.
