Strike or Mechanical Doubling?

    This is probably Mechanical Doubling on the ONE, but it looks almost like strike doubling. It is only on the ONE and no other letters on Reverse.:kewl:

    'Strike doubling' and 'mechanical doubling' are two terms for the same thing.

    They are not the same. Mechanical is worthless, strike doubling usually has value.

    Yes they are the same! Machine Doubling and Strike Doubling are the two different names given to the same type of doubling seen on coins. You must be thinking that "Strike Doubling" is the same as a Double Struck coin (which is fairly valuable) but they are not the same.

    Doesn't look like a double-die (DDR) to me. Probably Mechanical Doubling, but it would help to see the whole coin...

    I would bank on Machine doubling. This if very common.

    I would say he has strike doubling (aka machine doubling).

    Then again he could have machine doubling (aka strike doubling).

    In case you didn't notice, they are the same thing.
