I have just recently started collecting currency for my grandson. We have been collecting coins for quite awhile. What should I pay for a F-VF 1928 red seal one dollar note? I just bought the Whitman US Currency book by Bressett. In there it say's $50-$70. On ebay they are quite a bit higher. Thanks for your help.
I believe that woods and woodin are the only signers of that bill. A F one just ended on ebay. It went for $174.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=230272093242
It is called a "funnyback". I don't have a picture of the reverse, but here is the front. I only paid $35 for this one, but it was over 20 years ago.
We'd need the full series date (ex: 1928, 1928A, 1928B, ect...) and the serial number to give you a really good answer (without a picture). More than likely, its worth a few dollars but there are some out there that are more valuable depending on the block letters and the series.
