Okay folks. I dont know how to explain this. Or what words to even use to describe these. I bought 10 rolls today. And in those rolls were these 6 quarters. They look really really good. Like if no circulation. Kind of like the quarter I put up this week. I just find these odd. So what can this be???. I am literally stumped.
Well, nice finds, they all look circulated to me, but in fairly good condition. With the modern sandwich quarters, I zero in on errors. Most of the quarters you find CRHing today are not rare, even if in AU-50, which are CRH's possibilities. I mean usually only 2014 + look to be in any type of MS states. Again all of your finds are nice, but clearly circulated. Check for DDO and DDR and off-centers. If you are filling gaps in a quarter collection, the 69 looks good and a few others as fillers. Your white balance is out of wack. These quarters are not yellow. Possibly wait until the sun comes out and use it for a more realistic look.
I'm unsure if you are talking about the quarters you posted photos of, but those aren't even close to uncirculated.
When the metal that coin blank is rolled out to a specific thickness the rollers can collect dirt and dust which can transfer to the metal being rolled. They are almost on the microscopic level and do not show up unless a coin it left to sit and tone. The toning will show differently due to the marks left by the rollers. JMO
I guess I should be more specific. My fault. My question is , where do those lines come from on some of the coins. On the OBVERSE and REVERSE. Also, what causes this color. I know some will say environment or sand etcetera. But I have never ever run into coins that look like this. I would have thought they were all missing a clad layer on BOTH sides. Now I have weighed them all. They are all coming in at 5.1 grams. Or 5.0 grams. Which is what I find odd. All my other quarters come in at 5.6. My scale is very accurate down to the .01.
