When you get into the MS grades, you really need a loupe to count scratches and imperfections. Wear points aren't involved with MS grades since there aren't any.

From the images it's really tough to tell how much luster is there.
    They look a bit mellow.
My guess just from the images.
1935 MS-64 but the dark area in the right field makes me wonder.
    1938 MS-63 or 64 if that's not rim damage.
1940S MS-64 Don't think the image is as nice as the coin.
    1944S MS-65
I'm thinking these are in slabs now?

Idhair there not in slabs, i just got them on Friday, the coin shop lady had them in a glass display. the 35 has some bright red tone to it. there is no rim damage in the 38 it the scanner. you are right on the 40 i just cant get the luster on the scanner.

I am a little more conservative then my fellow coin talkers when it comes to grading coins, maybe because I am no expert. But when grading coins you need to look at 4 area to determine the grade of that coin: Surface Preservation, Strike, Lustre, and Eye Appeal.

With using a scanner trying to determine Lustre is going to be the trickest, but with all of them being scaned then you can compare the coins to each other to come up with a fair assumption.

1935 - Toning is not uniformed, light blemishes on the reverse with rim ding at 2 and 10 o'clock. MS 60/61.

1938 - Very good Strike, two light blemish spots on Obverse, rim dings at 5 and 7 o'colck. MS 61.

1940S - A very nice coin, good Surface Preservation, Strike and Eye Appeal is very good on the Obverse but weak strike on the reverse, with good toning. MS 64

1944S - The better of the four. Berely noticeable blemishes on the cheek and forehead. The Lustre and color would be the only question that would stop this coin from going MS 65.

These are some very nice coins, congratulation.

If there is no rim damage on the 35 and 38 then I would go MS 63 on both coins. But that is what I see.

I wont attempt to grade from pics/scans, but they all look nice, decent strikes and no serious distractions, with the exception of the 1st coin, the 35.

It appears as if there are parallel hairlines in front of Abes face, running north and south, and a scratch running opposite, this could be signs of cleaning with a cloth long ago.

GUESSING 64ish all of them except the 35. The 40-S and 44-S could easily go 65 if not for just a tad softness in the wheat.

Some nice coins there, I like the 44 S the best.
