I'm leaning towards PCGS as bringing more money per slab/coin in an auction like ebay than NGC. However, both are great services and consistent. Here are 2 instances. I had an MS63 PCGS 1908 No Motto Saint gaudens coin. I cracked it out and sent it into NGC and it got slabbed as MS64. Subsequently, I went to the SAME store I bought it from as an MS63 and asked if he agreed it was an MS64. He did. He then offered to buy it for me in MS64 money! Also, I have a 1908 $5 indian formerly AU58 ANACS (old anacs). Cracked it out and submitted it to PCGS and it got slabbed as the same grade. As well as this, I bought a coin from the NGC forums across the pond from england (I live in the US) from a british numismatist person I know on the NGC forums, dooly. He was sold the 1900 british sovereign as MS, but I Submitted it to PCGS and it came back AU58. So it really depends.
in my experience coins from pcgs will get the same grade or better at ngc for world coins. This has been my experience so no reason to flame me if your experience differs
Over the past several years, I've slabbed THOUSANDS of world coins at NGC and over the past couple weeks I've had 2,000+ world coins grade at PCGS. These are a diverse mixture ranging from 12th century hammered coins to modern proofs and everything in between. Based on what a grader and an executive at PCGS both independently reinforced with me that they are much stricter than NGC, I was bracing myself for the worst. Guess what? Didn't happen. Grades were very much in line with what I'd have received at NGC. There are areas here and there that are stricter (modern proofs), but there are also areas that are looser (I'm not saying which. :whistle. I suspect that if these coins were submitted to NGC, a vast majority of them would have graded the exact same.
Ahhhh spock - if you think I give you a hard time - LOL ! - you don't want to mess with Greg Be intersting to watch though, I'd even buy popcorn
You got it wrong you get so tired after our verbal ousts you are hoping Greg takes over vut dont worry i got your number along with Greg's
I just got some grades from PCGS and they slabbed SIX Indian coins as MS even though they are proofs. Should we add PCGS to the list of anti-Indian slabbers?
read my thread about NGC and india you can join me in breaking our heads. do you have pics of those coins. you might be making a sale already
i think its a waste of time to submit coins to TPG's for indian I probably know more than all of them combined and thats scary. I can hear GD going already.
You got that right. One of these days spock that ego of yours is going to jump up and take a large bite out of the part of your anatomy that you sit on. And guys, take it to PM's - both of ya know better.
