This strange looking coin with an image of Albert Einstein weighs 1/500th of an oz. & has a diameter of 2.96 mm. . It has a nominal value of 1/4 of a Swiss franc (26 cents). Only 999 of these coins will be minted & comes with a special magnifying glass to view it . Cost 199 Swiss francs.
Hard to believe, the Swiss once made the worlds most beautifull coins, not anymore 1/ my tiny Regensburg AV 1/32 Dukat 1741 5mm. .08g. Basel AV 20 Dukaten 1741 Unfortunately I do not own this beauty/ sold for 1.3 M
great something else for the counterfeiters and no one would ever be able to tell the difference with that size ...
By my rough calculations, it only contains $3 worth of gold... um, no thanks lol. That's an even worse rip-off than those Cook Island "bullion" cons. Er, I mean coins...
I seem to remember that Switzerland is one of the few countries to have made gold coins in the recent past whose face value exceeded the value of the metal content. (1991 250 Franc commemorative, though at the current price of gold, probably not anymore)
