All I can do is ask a moderator to remove your quote? I can't even quote the quote.

 

This forum format aggravates me, I didn't even know it was possible to do that. Why should anyone be able to change someone elses quoted text???

 

Not a big deal. I think "Supporters" get a longer window to edit posts, but still only our own. No hard feelings, and no need to call in moderators.

When you're writing or editing a reply, the quoted text is right there in the edit box, and you can add or change whatever you want, intentionally or otherwise. I use it sometimes to emphasize part of the text I'm quoting, or to edit out irrelevant parts. But sometimes it's easy to lose track of that [/QUOTE] closing tag on the quote, and put your text before it instead of after it.

I don't know what the hack I did. I think I started a comment and forgot to delete it before I started another post. What a mess . I feel Shhty bout the context. I didn't even realize you were trying to bring my attention to it.

 

Oh, boy, and this time I left a booby trap for you in my message. That [ /QUOTE] tag that I typed in ended your quote of me prematurely!

"Markup languages" like this (the stuff in square brackets) aren't super-complicated, but they are unforgiving. I've been working with them for 25 or 30 years now, and I still sometimes trip over an unmatched tag. Don't sweat it. You won't be the last one here to make the mistake; heck, you probably won't be the last one here tonight to do it...
