I bought a box of kennedy half dollars from the local bank just to see what i mite find.being A total rookie while sorting the box i come across a few of these.has anyone seen these and could anyone tell me whats with the finish on them?
The coin has post mint damage. Damaged after it left the mint. Looks like either exposure to extreme heat or some sort of corrosive.
But its uniform on both sides of the coin?i thought that at first also but its way to uniform and has only smooth destortion.chemical distortion maybe?
Heres my real problom the box of 1000 halves came from loomis.zero silver and basically all poor condition.im kinda thinking not only do they scavange all silver but theyre also only redistributing the culls.not to mention charging a premium.could that be so?
Blast, you make no sense at all. Is the coin silver? If so, it's worth spot. If it's otherwise, spend it or put in your pocket to 'wow' young ladies at the checkout when you make change. I find the Spanish girls to be most curious. Black and white girls nary bat an eye........
I think that your both correct i believe that the coinage is almost intentionally damaged by whatever proscess the big companies use to re roll and re distribute coinage and that they also pull all silver.if so is the only market left for collecting the error market.should i hold on to all my silver coinage and never let it be enjoyed by future generations.
Id like to anounce the pick up bus will be leaving in one hr.first stop 7 11 followed by cirkle k,wal mart,k mart and finally jc pennys. I apreciate your views people.enjoy the evening.
