While going through the circulated 5 Rupees sack that I bought from the bank today, I found these 5 error coins . I only collect errors visible through naked eye and not microscopic ones, so these 5 fitted the bill. Guess what? I have only gone through half the coins and I might find a few surprises tomorrow.
you should get some OMS errors too they are cool especially the ones made in brass and stainless ( and i dont mean my friend here)
Uh whats OMS? Btw I already have some Off center errors in steel of various denominations but none in brass.....I'm not an avid error coin collector....I just keep the ones I get from circulation....I'll post my other error coins soon...
off metal strike our generous mint employees (both bombay and calcutta) are willing to oblige collectors you can even ask for a 5 re punch on a 1 re coin and vice versa you are stopped only by your imagination and money but luckily those are not expensive. Where are you based near Guhati and do you travel to kolkatta much if you do you should look up some shops in bada bazaar you can get good stuff real cheap.
lol:mouth:....thats true...I have seen many abnormal errors being sold in ebay.in......Calcutta was my hometown but now I stay in Silchar, a small town near Bangladesh and Burma border ; roughly 200 kms from Guwahati..... I do purchase coins from Bada Bazar but only British India Silver and Gold, all at their melt. I will go visit some flea market this august in New Delhi.
go to connaught place (if i remember correctly ) another killing to be made but remember most of the coins you will buy from these places will be fakes sometimes not even worth melt because of the gold/silver manipulation. great place to buy coins in OGP though (bada bazaar)
Got a few friends who live in ND and collect coins too...... They say that world coins are being sold at dirt cheap rates (of course washed and not of the best grades)......This will be my first visit to ND.....so I expect to return home with sack full of coins......
Don't worry....I'll take my friends along......I am never good at bargaining....so I always take someone with me while shopping.....I'm more ebay kind of shopper.......
