Just keeping everyone on their toes. A fun overstrike, and we know the mint has never re struck any previous denominations.
I bought this one a month before the 58 but it got lost in transit. Tracking showed it almost get to me and then *poof*! It disappeared for a month. It ended up back at the seller's place 20 days later. Just came in the mail Saturday.
WHEW! USPS can suck, they lost a few of my coin shipments/receipts over the decades. My question - what happens to shipments lost AT THEIR FACILITIES? All of things I've had that had gone missing happened at USPS and not the delivered mailbox.
Goodness gracious...... these Lincolns made me go over and check out the Moonlight Mint site, and I just so happened to order the last “1805” Draped Bust silver dollar (antiqued/bulk handled) overstrike he had left. There were only 55 produced. So, I must thank you guys (@robec @Pickin and Grinin).
I'm wondering, it's USPS so I was thinking they destroy the packages. I would think anything else could set them up for lawsuits since a package's contents could be quite personal or accidentally reveal personal information once opened. It makes me sick to think the coins I sent are gone forever. They've lost some beautiful and unique coins from me. Calling and emailing was futile - the "post masters" don't care and act like you're just wasting their time. I'll never forget a ~$300 package of toned Lincolns I sent. I called 5-6 times, traced it right down to a small, podunk town PO who had it last. Asked that "master" to look for my box since it was last scanned there - this went on for about 6 months. WORTHLESS! One of their employees stole the package and he didn't like the fact I was calling him out on it.
