    Today I want to share my latest Mint Error acquisition. It is a Blank Copper Planchet that was damaged when it was going through the Upsetting Mill process. That's when the raised rim is created.

    This Mint Error was a special package put together by Error Trends Coin Magazine. It is now a defunct publication that saw its last issue in 2011. Arnie Margolis started his publication back in 1968 until early 2011. He stopped due to sickness and sadly passed away in 2012.
    I wonder if Arnie himself handled this error?

    @Inspector43
    I was on the subway when I was creating this thread. It posted by mistake before I completed it. I noticed you liked it before I completely finished it.
    Please take a look at the final product! ;)

    Paddy- Can I ask how/where you acquired it? They were originally located in Oceanside?

    Thanks @paddyman98 I worked in Quality Management in most all disciplines for most of my life and had a good idea of the upsetting process. But, I have never seen the one used at the mint. Thanks a bunch for the follow up. Is there much FOG on the subway?

    I had seen similar packaged Error Trends error coins before but I never got them. I saw the one I just got on ebay for a really great price so I quickly purchased it.

    I also purchased 3 years worth of Error Trends Coin Magazine from another seller. Very good price!
    I never actually seen one and now I will own 36 issues.. 1974,1975 and 1977

    Only near the Fare Booth, fare machines and the turnstiles!
    Some occasional finds on the subway cars.

    Thanks for that. I wasn't sure if the company was located in Oceanside or just the PO Box.

    A very neat piece.

    I have, in fact, heard of Error Trends. In fact, I am friends with one of their original writers and contributors: Steven Mills.
