Hello all, I need some help. I just received by 2020 Silver Eagle and I found several things on this coin. 1st, there appears to be a die gouge on Liberty’s dress that appears to be melted. Then there’s what appears to be some sort of blemish on the banner just under the eagles head, almost looks like one of the feathers. Finally between United States there seems to be a small shiny spot between the words. Please help me with some advise on these anomalies. Thank you.

    > There is a die gouge on Liberty's dress that appears to be melted. If there was a gouge on the die, it would become raised on the coin. That's understandable! But, at what point in the production of the coin after it has already been struck would the raised anomaly be subjected to enough heat to melt it? Actually, I do see some parallel marks to the left of this anomaly that may be scratches or abrasions on her dress, and the anomaly may be an extension (or the beginning) of it. Based on this observation, I think they are just contact marks after striking.

    > The "blemish" below the eagle's head is too blurry for me to even guess what may have caused it. The same goes for the "shiny spots" between UNITED STATES. Honestly, I think you are trying too hard to look for errors of any kind that will make this coin worth more than what you paid for it.

Believe me, you wouldn't be the first and you surely won't be the last. ~ Chris

Eveything sounds like a worn die issue.
    Nothing major IMHO.

I do thank you for your opinions. Let me clarify, these issues are “Very” noticeable. I am torn between keeping it, but, if there are legitimate Mint issues with it (the reason I posted it) or to return it to the Mint where I purchased it for a replacement. Now with that being said I enjoy the beauty of a brand new coin and of course I will inspect my coin before putting it in an airtight capsule and not for the purpose of trying to increase its value, I would hate to return a legitimate error coin for one with no errors. Just like anyone else will do. Thank you again.

Did I miss something. You say you bought this from the Mint? It doesn't appear to be a proof, reverse proof,, or a burnished piece. It looks like a regular bullion coin. The mint only sells those to distributors, in minimum 25,000 oz orders. How did you buy a bullion coin directly from the mint?

Thank you... It is a bullion coin, my mistake I actually have several of these but this is not my mint coin. Sorry about the mistake.
