Got this 3 mins. after Orange Florin d'or!

AV Ecu d'or neuf a la couronne ND Chalons sur Marne Mint
Charles VII "the Victorious" 1422-61 king of France (House of Valois)
    MS-63
    ex: Terner collection
obv. Crowned arms of France/ flanked by two fleus de lys
rev. Floriated Cross in Quadrilobe/ Crown in each angle
    28mm. 3.53g. .999 france-charles-vii-1422-1461-gold-5675932-O.jpg

Charles introduced this new gold coin, after the French finally started winning some battles vs the English. Joan of Arc led the French in taking back territories under English Rule. During the reign of Charles VI "the Fool" the gold coinage was debased from 24 carats to 23 carats. This new coin was pure gold=24 carats again.
