Recent find at gas station

    Was getting gas and I always ask when im paying has anyone payed with dollar coins ,halves , or any older bills. The cashier said I have a george washington half dollar someone spent. Got a 1982 comemerative half for 50 cents at a gas station.

    Yeah were made for 250th year celebration of washingtons birth and was made in 1982 also first coin to be 90 percent silver since 1964 if my red book in correct

  8. Congratulations! I've collected a few of these D.C. and U.S. Territories Quarters in pristine condition from my local fuel station. I examine my tips from work too, which is how I've found some unique errors. Wish I would have started doing this back when I was a waitress.

    Yeah I forgot about it then remembered it when the cashier mentioned George Washington Half

    yeah only light scratches on the finish was only cause the cashier put it in with the dollar coins in her till. After I cleaned the smudges and fingerprints
    still is MS 60+

    I think probably the idea was to convey the perspective of looking way up to Washington on his horse, with the lower parts closer to the viewer and therefore larger. The artist failed in this, however, leaving the impression of a man with a shrunken head.
