52 partial "books" to go through. All are being kept at a bank and I will take a look at a few random ones here on occasion. Melt value bores me to death but the condition of most is poor. Theres freaking tape all over which KILLS ME. Its going to take a long time to go through these, research and learn to identify varieties and errors. Any suggestions on how to organize this project is welcomed. Im thinking stick with a denomination so that Im not hoping around trying to learn. This is a treasure chest in cardboard covers. I'll probably start with what I know a little about and thats the pennies. Heres a couple random ones pulled out.

Any "off the bat" suggestions to look for would also be welcomed.

Judging from the tape across the empty 1903-S and 1904-S slots, I wonder if someone's already picked over these.

There's a lot more to study in the Morgans than the late Walkers, the Franklins or even the Lincolns, I think.

What a nice problem to have, though!

Looks like you've got some work to do. Yikes the dreaded tape! There are a a lot of varieties, i've been using the encyclopedia of morgan and peace dollars for a few years and vamworld.com has been a great place to see what you may have as well. Good luck with your project!

That tape has the tell tale sign of my great grandmas house....looks like Pall Mall non filter yellow lol! Theres some really intriguing $10 and $20 coins that are loose in an old fashioned glass medicine bottle. I will get some pictures for help with those. I didnt even know a coin of that value existed. They are all 1850s and in rough shape. Were multiple 1851. A few single coins 1855 1856 1857 and 1859. No 1858 or 1850. Would have been cool if there was an 1850 because from my very little reading over the last hour, 1850 was the first year it was minted. Would have been cool!!! I know this, once I figure out what it all is, Im selling anything that has any value. I know the gold does just because and I dont trust anything at all I read on the internet. I looked up 1851 $20 coin and the value is all over the place as expected so I trust none of it.

I inherited 2 collections and I'm still trying to figure them out. A lot of them are WWI and WWII and older from around the world. Two sets of 1800's Hawaii coins excepting the nickels I'll post some time along with the story, my great aunt owned 2 restaurants in Honolulu in the 40's. The collections really got me started in numismatics again, that and being retired, and for the last several years I've been doing a lot research that I should have done long ago. My great grandma chewed snuff, I didn't see any stains on the coins, lol. I hope you have some great coins!
