Not trying to bring up old news, a few days ago I asked opinions on DGS grading and most of who replied were optimistic and positive. Wanted to let you all know that on Friday night 7/4 when I first became aware of DGS I sent in for a free sample. Today, I went to my PO Box and it was there post dated 7/9. Just a common 2000-D Virgijnia Quarter encased in their folder but I was impressed. Has anyone else gotten there free sample yet? Hey you can't beat the price.
I saw the advertisement for the free sample, but I fugured this would be for dealers, wholesalers, and the like. I never bothered to sign up considering I am just Joe Schmoe. I actually ordered some DGS graded coins instead. Tell us what you think about the holder. Better yet you may want to disassemble it and tell us what is inside. What kind of material holds the coin. Is it like a 2 peice rubber system? Does it seem to be sealed tight. I dont think they modified much from the PCI holders except for the label.
Sorry, my computer went down last night right after I posted. The holder is the old PCI holder well made tight seal. Only change looks like thd DGS info at top. I remember receiving the offer through Numismatic News as one of their "offerd by" e-mails.
So you finally got your gift , when are you gonna write a thread thanking everyone :mouth::whistle::kewl::hail: rzage
hell no this was from DGS to encourage future business did i mention i spent more than 3 grand in grading last year and i dont want to even think of grading costs this year
The holders seem pretty tamper-proof. I like the way the corners are cut and the white background. I don't like clear plastic slabs because I think they look cheap. It's tough to describe the asthetics of plastic. It's more of a gut feeling.
I have, and it is one of the best ideas I have seen executed in the slabbing industry in quite a while...
it might or might not be the best idea but its really excellent and i like it a lot. the only thing that might be a factor or for DGS is their lightly cleaned stuff also i know they are not good for coins from india their rep was honest enough to tell me they have no idea about those coins when i met them ar one of the shows but otherwise i like what i see a lot
i would but my cam sucks so go here you will get great pics http://www.dominiongrading.com/?ref...2eba41886-2EB3EF5D-F1FF-8DD7-CE1B1228A5C1BBF6
they seem slightly wider i havent compared them side to side but they are not complete misfits like ANACS
