Reprocessed or replated. Gives it that look. IMHO

I see what look like flow lines; I wouldn't expect to see those on a reprocessed cent. However, that topography on the letters is exactly what I'd expect to see on a reprocessed cent. Without whole-coin photos, it's hard to say.

Welcome to Coin Talk. As others have requested. Please post photos of both sides of the entire coin. That's the only way we can see what you have. Thank you.
    This site shows 24 DDO's. http://varietyvista.com/01a LC Doubled Dies Vol 1/DDO 1943.htm
From what little of the coin you show us, I don't see anything that matches.

2 take aways from these pics/this coin

    1. Be sure when using a h202 and wht vinegar bath, to check for steel. It will absolutly EDIT: Language ~Read the rules on abbreviations , etc. for language your copper, turn post 81' crap (zink/tin) to lumps of rust (actually turns them into a chemical magnet with the hots for copper) and cause irreversible damage to the only thing that manages to come out not looking like bird LANGUAGE : READ THE FORUM RULES

    2. Learning experience aside, is the mint mark normal for this coin? Or is it PMD covered neatly by chem burns?

Sorry for stepping on your post, hope you dont mind!

Hot peroxide and vinegar is an etchant. Why would you put coins in it, unless you're trying to do date/detail "restoration" (with the side effect of trashing any remaining original surface)?

Ok, well sorry to report that I don't know where I placed this particular steelie. I'll keep looking and repost at that time.

    Thanks all the same.

If you really don't know, it is just someone who comes onto a site to argue and cause trouble with nothing much in mind other than to irritate other people and enjoy their discomfort. I don't think you are one, but if you stick around, you're gonna see a lot of them here.
