It is almost time for someone to post anything to revive the thread. I don't think a Dikaiosyne would be out of line.

Thanks, Martin. I enjoy these segues. I feel they enhance the spirit of the thread, and make it even more interesting.

Constantius II certainly seems to be smiling, very intensely!

On further checking and thanks to keen eyed @dougsmit it turns out that my “Happy face” is in fact Constantine I (CONSTANTI-NVS MAX AVG, RIC VII Antioch 86) and not Constantius II, which i’d always assumed since purchase.

We have failed before on Nerva tetradrachms. Someone needs one.

Fourree can mean gold over silver. There are copper over iron ones but I have none and have seen only a couple.

I hesitate to post this, as I posted this same coin on the last page. I justify my repetition with >24 hours elapsed and updated description and new photo from "velvet swatch background" experiments:
    M. Aemilius Lepidus.jpg
    M. Aemilius Lepidus, 58 BC, AR fourrée Denarius
Obv: Veiled head of the Vestal Virgin Aemilia right , border of dots
Rev: View of the Basilica Aemilia, above AIMILIA, on left REF downwards, on right S C downwards, below M LEPIDUS, border of dots.
Ref: Crawford 419/3a; Aemilia 26 (<10 dies reported in Crawford RRC)

Here's another coin that by weight (2.35g) and by the rust patina has me questioning whether or not it might be a fourrée. Several features of this coin that I found interesting, including:
    - the reverse legend that spells out fully a word that we often see only as "IMP"
    - the breaks in the reverse legend IMP-E-RATOR-II which doesn't match any of the 42 examples in ACSearch or the 22 examples on OCRE
    - small dots surrounding the wreath also interesting to note on the reverse
