Be cautious, though. Most stores sell them at no markup, but Harris-Teeter actually added a surcharge for stamps last time I bought them there. (And yes, it will be the last time. Bozos.) Also worth noting that you can purchase stamps online directly from the Post Office, picking the kind you want, and they offer free delivery. (I don't remember if there was a minimum order for free delivery.)
Most places do sell them at face as a courtesy to their customers but it is not against the law to charge more. I'm still using my old collection. Really not worth selling them.
Of course not. H-T just has odd notions of "courtesy". (They're owned by Kroger, which pulled its own stores out of our state completely. They said they wanted to focus on H-T with its more "upscale image", which is sustained mainly by selling the same things as Kroger at prices averaging about 20% higher. But I'm not bitter.)
Yep, Aldi mostly, which is one reason Kroger bailed. Also a Sprouts (NOT a "low-cost leader") and Food Lion within a mile of the house.
So many are quick to complain of an increase in cost. While at the same time eager to pay one-thousand plus for a product they missed not 48 hours prior at less than seventy dollars (the reverse proof with shipping). Or the countless graded coins at double, if not more, than issue price. And to think that Mint officials don't see this is to fool yourself. The increases are justified and modest. Minting coins, like any business, incurs costs which in the end must be passed on to the consumer. Otherwise the lights go out and the doors get locked. As for myself, I already have a list waiting for the respective release dates.
I just do not buy the modern stuff. It is a personal preference. I am the AVP of a bank though, so we shall see what we get in coin wise and then I will decide. Lol
