Why do I always purchase coins that have nothing to do with what I am trying to collect? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=380046631304&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=025 I bought a mercury dime too.......maybe I should hide my money somewhere, or, put it in a bond that I cant touch for a while stainless
ok, good. Buy buy buy. Just dont regret If you like the coin, make the topic title say.. "I won a sweet coin!!"
OK you asked. Your diagnosis is you are suffering from the "I want every coin in the world" syndrome. To ease the symptoms you must buy a new coin. The only cure is to start collecting stamps.
I certainly don't have the answer to that question. The answer is somewhere within yourself. That's a nice-looking Buffalo and it was cheap. Don't beat yourself up too much over buying it.
Nice looking coin Stainless, you seen it and liked it so no problem LOL the problems start when you buy a coin you dont like
Nice Bison stainless. I share your pain concerning what to collect. One day I want to collect this, next day I want to collect that. I recently went to a rather large coin dealer which is the closest one (100 miles) to me. I had to wait since he had another customer. This was good because it gave me some time to look around. He had some really nice stuff or course at very nice prices. Anyhow I was looking for some early 50's proof sets which he did not have. I did not leave alone. I purchased a WWII mercury dime set, some Morgans, 1859 Indian cent and a really nice 1965 mint set. I had no intentions of purchasing these items when I made the visit. I surprise myself sometimes with my coin purchases.
Same here. Started filling a very nice Library of Coins album for Barber dimes. Even got the 13-S. I love the old Library of Coins albums. Now shifted off to trying to get close to completing an early Lincoln cent set; again in a Library of Coins album. Of course with a bag of 5,000 wheats all the extras went into several other partial Lincoln sets. Been on the Lincolns for about 3 weeks and almost finished through 1940. Then it's 1941 through 1958 to do.
Welcome to the club, BTW it only gets worse. At least it is better than collecting assorted females, and a lot less expensive and much more safe.
There is no problem with wanting nice examples of many different types of coins. Just recognize that in the end, you won't have any sort of coherent collection with any sort of theme. You need to ask yourself what you are trying to achieve or if you are trying to achieve anything at all.
That was funny....... Hey if you are getting good deals who cares? That is the way I feel. Of course I also sell coins which is always a motive to swipe up a good deal.
Yes - stainless I have done the same thing. As long as your are happy with the coin then that is all that counts.
It's that kid-in-the-candy-store syndrome, stainless. It means you're headed for a tummy ache if you can't get it under control.
