I received 4 2008 Proof Sets Friday, July 11. I was very disappointed that the sets are packaged in 3-lense boxes. I've been very patiently filling 4 Mint (2-lense) Collector's Boxes with 1999 through 2007 sets. Now with only this year's coins left to complete the 10 year collection, the d*** things don't fit. Grrrr... I know you can buy 3-lense Collector's Boxes, but I kinda wanted the complete state quarter series years in their own Collector's Box. Anyone else have the same gripe?

If you purchase the quarter only proof sets, you have a uniform 1 lens collecton for statehood quarters. Otherwise, I am afraid that the US Mint doesn't exactly have a history of uniformity.

True. I'm hoping that the 2008 Silver Proof Sets will be packaged like the 07's, with a sleeve over the 2-lens and 1-lense boxes. That will give me 4 uniform sets of those in the 10 year Collector's Boxes.

I carefully removed the inner liner of the two lens boxes so there are no slots to hold the proof sets. Starting with the 68 proof set, I have them organized by year one right behind each other. This has worked out well. In fact, you can typically fit one or two more sets in without the liner. Did the same with all the silver proof sets as well. For my earlier proof sets and all my mint sets, I took out the liners in the one lens boxes and put them in long ways. The only thing that bothers me now is the new packaging for the mints sets. They just don't fit well into any boxes. If anyone wants pics to see what I am talking about just let me know and I will post them. Joe

    As promised...
The first pic should be the box with the insert, the second pic should be without the insert. The third and fourth pics should be examples of a proof and silver proof boxes and the fifth box should be one of my unc boxes. If they don't show up in this order then I am sure you all could figure it out. If anyone has a better storage idea, please share... I am always open to other ideas.
