Harry; Are you going to post the answeres? I wanted to participate in this contest but lacked the time to do so (Saratoga). The only one that I got off the bat was NYS thruway. As to the corps that only had 50 soldiers when ww1 broke out .....maybe military police? LOL Ken
Topher answered question number two the best. I was looking for the USAF however topher correctly argued his point. #2 I believe the answer you are looking for is the United States Air Force, but I will argue that this answer is incorrect. Your questions states: "What current branch...." so this would seem to apply as the US Air Force at that time was called the "Aviation Section, U.S. Signal Corps" as it was created (more like renamed) by Congress on 18 July 1914 (and replacing the "Aeronautical Division, U.S. Signal Corps"). However, at the time of the declaration of war on Germany by the United States in April, 1917, the Aviation Section consisted of 65 officers, 1,087 enlisted men, and 55 airplanes (all trainers). His reward is two 1939 S BU RD Lincoln cents
