    Yes, it is a counterfeit; we have found several to date and find they date back to the '60's and an article by Newman. Can't explain why so many showed up recently.

    Yesterday the Walking Liberty half in my Dansco 7070 was a raw 1938 D with nice toning - today I upgraded to this common coin. Still kicking myself for not fighting harder for a nicely toned one, but I love the thick luster on this babe.
