Because of the many questions pertaining to star notes on this forum, I have prepared a small blog write-up/summary explaining some basic information about them, and added some photos from my archive. The post is from Sept. 2018, but, it used to be a draft, as I haven't been able to work on it extensively until now.

Any suggestions for it are appreciated.

When I click on the link, the text shows up but not the photos.

When viewing the BEP’s monthly production report, what is the difference between the replacement notes reported as notes and replacement notes reported as sheets ?

I know the answer...just wondering if you know.

Less common replacement notes are identified as individual notes, because they are used to replace notes after a sheet has been cut. While replacement notes reported as sheets are used to substitute an entire damaged sheet?

Yes, but the sheet replacement notes are the scarcer of the two.
