Well this is a first!

Before adding this to my main thread I wanted to see if you guys knew what this is?

This is a first for me. This nickel has three lines rotating completely around the nickel. I would assume this is a collar error? I have come across collar errors before in the past over the many years of hunting but none with a triple line.

    What do you guys think?

Probably a "railroad rim", and a nice example.

Never seen of a railroad rim in three layers. I don't think this was struck this way.

I haven't seen one with 3. I have one just with
    One partial collar.

I also say partial collar strike. Tilted collar also.
The appearance is definitely a mystery.

I've found several of these from 1986P over the years. Not sure if any of them were 3 layered, but certainly central to the rim circumference. I initially thought a freed birth year nickel from a necklace until I found a second, third, fourth, etc.
