As I type, HSN has Mike Mesak and Alan Skantz (sp?) on hawking their First Day Of Issue Limited Edition (FDOI LE) 1 oz gold American Eagles for $2,499. They are claiming that ANACS was only able to certify 497 in MS70 condition. They also state that the coins haven't yet been released by the Government and that, should you buy one, your credit card won't be charged until the coin ships. My question: if the coins haven't yet been released by the Mint, how do they know that only 497 will be graded as MS70?
when to stop so does that mean if the batch that HSN orders ends up having 500 in MS70, they will only slab 497 as FDOI?
It means that the certification company i think Annacs if your using hsn Will receive 497 coins in the MS70 that were made on the first day of production.
It's so sad how the TV pitchmen play to the ignorance of the general public. I always hope that no relative of mine would think they are getting me the greatest gift ever from HSN, so I make sure they are all warned!
Some of there stuff is ok i would just rather buy it from there website where i can read everything with out the guy screaming into his mik at 12:30 am lol i stayed up to late last night
Yeah they got me this morning , but I can still cancel, I bought the 2020 5 dollar gold eagle fdoi and apparently the the back is changing he made a big deal about that so the 5.00 gold eagle is about 385.00 0-285 but after reading everything online I’m very sceptible about all this now I’m reading about uncirculated and proof coins seems that proof coins are better , are the Han coins only noncirculated and not proofs??
From past experience he knows approximately what percentage of submitted coins will come back as MS-70. He knows how many he is buying and having shipped directly to ANACS on the first day for grading. Percentage times number being shipped equals 497 coins will come back MS-70. And he may deliberately state the number a little low just in case this years percentage isn't quite as high.
Who cares? First <fill in blank> is a total joke. Same for a price of $2499 for an ounce of gold bullion.
Right, but first strike/first day of issue/first younameit is still a joke to a serious collector, even 10 years later. Paying huge premiums for bullion doesn’t make any sense, no matter the what the label says.
My mother and grandmother , both thought the wrestling matches on B/W TV were real, and the referee was blind and the bad actors were the devil's minions come to earth, then the 'clean American boy' glance to the sky and became energized with goodness and denied them the win. Nothing has changed much. Don't always believe what you see, and sometimes evil actors do win.
