OMG the DETAILS IN THE DETAILS I could really lose my mind in all of this lol but seriously thank you for your time I appreciate it so much. I am an information junkie and I’m here to learn .
I also have a 1944 penny weighing 2.8 grams but there is no damage or taper to it was thinking of sending it out to be graded
Grading is very expensive. Is this a steel cent? Provide a photo here first. If it looks like steel, it is most likely plated over copper. Don't take this the wrong way, this is a very rare coin, and someone is always coming here, claiming this and that. And so far 100% have not had the actual coin. There are a million fakes for every real one. If it is a copper 1944 that weighs a little light, it's no big deal.
Thank you for the information I am new to this and after checking out about 15000 penny in the last 2 months i thought I found something good will keep looking thank you again
@Ron111 The best thing to do is to start a new post with a clear cropped picture. Your coin probably isn't an error and/or isn't in a high grade that would warrant sending it to a TPG, but a pic would confirm that.
Of course we don't know what you have, it is important to post clear photos of both sides, about any coin you have a question about. And most of the time, people here will give you an honest and correct answer. But without seeing it, I was only guessing based on past experience.
Hi I also have a 1944 and it has a thinner planchet on one side so I bet they were minted that way and its an error

Hi and welcome to CT. Clear, in-focus full size images are required before anyone is able to give you an opinion on your coin. A planchet is a single entity so cannot have. to quote you, " a thinner planchet on one side "
