    Anyone here pony up?

I don't want to pry too far into the buying habits of others, but I'm curious as to how well 2008 AGEs are selling, particularly proofs. A coworker of mine believes that, with a $500 price increase over last year, 2008 could become a "chase" year for the 4 piece proof set.

If I am going to drop that kind of money, I rather spend it on the buffaloes. I am actually trying to get rid of my 06 & 07 AGE 4 coin sets so I can buy the 08 buf sets.

Numistmatic News prints weekly mintage numbers for these coins.... I think. I know they do for the bullion ones. That will give you an idea of how they are selling... and if I remember correctly, the bullion/unc ones are not selling as well as last year.

No. There is no good reason to pay the premium. Regular old $20 gold pieces are a better deal overall.

I agree with you 110%..... but just something about those buffs.
