Yes. But it looks like a copper plated zinc planchet.
The rare one is all copper.

Yes I believe it is. But you need to weight it. See if it weighs 2.5g or 3.11
You looking for the 3.11g copper

 

Just by the Ring ridge around the Cent which is caused by a worn die strike you can tell it is a copper plated zinc cent

 

Sure is. I find the d's the hardest to find. Like 100 to 1 for me.

Look at the words IN GOD WE TRUST.. You will see it looks kind of funky. Almost sunken in. That is formed by a worn die and the appearance is common on copper plated zinc cents.

 

But I want to make an elaboration.
It's known as a ring ridge also.

No. Not really. Instead of calling in sick I went to work. I'm lousy. And to make matters worse a table fell and hit the lower back of my leg. Above the ankle. Bruised and limping. No detecting tomorrow

Also the zinc cents have a different patina with the shiny copper plating,
as opposed to a copper cent with full luster.

The past few days have been mild. Mid 50's during the day and colder at night. It's usually colder in January. Don't be concerned. If she meets real New Yorkers they will be welcomed warmly. But, we have many non New Yorkers living here also.
