New Coins for my Goal

As I have mentioned here, I have set out for the ambitious goal of getting at least one coin from every country in the world. Instead of littering these forums, I'm going to keep this thread with my new (usually circulated mind you) coins.

Someone that works for my dad just got back from Dubai. I got these two coins... a 1 dinar from 2007 and a 50 fils from 1998.

 

I added a new country to my own collection yesterday, here's a link to its entry on the worldcoingallery:

Mine's the same as the one pictured, weight 20g, full rims and detail as opposed to the KM#8.2

Unfortunatley mine looks to have been lightly cleaned, multiple tiny hairline scratches in the fields. On the other hand there's a mintage of only 1,000, it only cost me $18 (2008 KM lists it at 60) and it was a new country for me. I'm happy with it.

 

BTW what countries do you have so far? Perhaps I have some spares from a couple you're looking for...

 

Its definitely a fun collection to try to assemble. I'm collecting U.S. coins right now, but I may try to expand my collection to include every country some day. So far I already have 50+ different countries, and I haven't really been trying.

 

That coin looks awesome! Anyway, I don't have very many coins yet, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to go through with trades.

Woohoo! I got 4 coins in the mail today (got on eBay) but my camera is not working...

2005 5 Shillings coin from Somaliland.
1999 1 Krona coin from Iceland.
1981 5 Aurar coin from Iceland.
1981 10 Aurar coin from Iceland.

The first two look to be in uncirculatec ondition.

Surprisingly no Russia and little from Africa.

2 coins I have are unidentified...one could be russian.

If i was to guess, I'd say Kyrgyzstan (or not) and Egypt.


I too have many 'doubles' that I will send out to anyone who wants one.

 

Hello eddyk.......The big coin is a Syrian 5 Piastres dated 1972 and the smaller one is a Bulgarian 2 Stonki........

In India we collect Cricket cards and also swap them......lolz......kinda like baseball.....
