Yep - Im fuming right now !!! So about a month ago I had to refund a buyer for a mistake I made - no big deal right.. Well I forgot to do it on a Friday before I left the office for the weekend- The buyer got a bit upset & left me a Negative feedback -

I calmly spoke with the buyer the next Monday - refunded him & apologized for not getting him the refund quicker. He also apologized for jumping the gun & leaving the NEG.

He left a reply to the feedback saying he was happy & that I held up my end....

So on to the process of actually removing the NEG. Since there is not the option anymore for the buyer & seller to remove them due to the feedback changes I had to contact a company called NETNEUTRALS (a division of TRUST & SAFETY) to mediate for us - I stated my end & they contacted the buyer & he stated that it should be removed-

So nothing happened after 3 weeks , I call my TSAM for Ebay (Top Seller Account Manager) & he says he cant help me its all on NETNEUTRALS now.
I return to the web page where I began this process , log in again & get a promt to complete the claim.

Heres the kicker - It cost $100 to be taken from your paypal account for NETNEUTARLS to complete it & remove the NEG feedback - !!!

    ^*%#$*&%*&^(*&()(*)(^#%$@$#@&)_))_)!!!!!***&*&^$!!!!!

EBAY - I CANT WAIT TILL SOMEONE CAN COMPETE WITH YOU SO I CAN MOVE MY 2 MILLION IN BUSINESS A YEAR OFF OF YOUR STINKING SITE !!:headbang::headbang:

Sorry for the rant but I had to do it !

What the hell? Pay them $100 to click a few buttons and remove a negative comment?

Craig's List is trying. Most of the people on there hate ebay and refuse to deal with them anymore. It's not perfect for everything but it's great for finding people locally and.....IT'S FREE to use for everybody. What a notion? Although the format is bad.

I'm not to the point where I hate ebay yet but they are greedy SOBs.

I'd bet netneutrals is actually a new division of ebay. No wonder they wanted to change the feedback system. This could be profitable.

I wouldn't pay them a dime to remove a negative feedback. As long as you can reply to it is all I care. I stopped caring about having the 100% a long time ago. When you're dealing with the public, it's not a matter of if but when you're going to get a negative over something. I don't care who you are or what you do. You've got a negative coming sooner or later and most people know this.

Very few times have I not purchased from a seller over their feedback. If concerned, I'll read into them and see what the problems were first, before skipping them.

    Outrageous.

Perhaps sellers should just give coins away so they won't get negatives.

    Yup,

Most of my selling these days is by word of mouth and CoinBug.

Leaving a neutral lowers your percentage the same as a negative does. The buyer actually has to go to the actual feedback page to see that it was "only" a neutral.

I know, I have one neutral. At over 110 transactions, I'm just over 99%

Those new places will never compete with e-bay until sellers start actually doing auctions and giving the buyers a "chance" that they may get a good deal.

Why do you think e-bay remains so popular?? Everyone is cruising for that overlooked gem. You simply don't find that on Coinbug, Bidville, etc. The seller has carefully put the price they want for the item. Take it or leave it.

There is no fun in that. So until then......

That is crazy having to pay $100 to remove a neg...

The "grassy knoll" guy in me wonders if this was all part of the "grand plan" with the new feedback system...perhaps ebay new the number of negs would rapidly increase, and they could generate revenue (at $100 a pop) by charging sellers to remove the negs? And of course, I think it is probably worth it to spend the $100 to remove them in the long run, especially at the volume Budgood does.

    This sucks!

On another note, I have purcahsed from HCC before, and have had great results...never knew it was Budgood's site though.:thumb:

I would, but nothing more than a dime. :D

and that's totally ridiculous about the 100$ fee.
All it means is a seller with tons of money can afford to have perfect feedback... x_x

Not necessarily true and if you don't believe me ask others that have bought on CoinBug.

I picked up my ANACS F15 1914-D Lincoln for $100 under bid. Some good sellers there that aren't looking to gouge but make a few bucks. There is also an "offer" option. I have taken three offers to date.

Will it compete with ebay? No but don't summarily dismiss it my friend.

Ebay is not the end all way to do business. My boss just put a 16-D Mercury dime on ebay with an $800 reserve on ebay and it didn't sell. Yesterday he sold it to another dealer for $825.

Yes, ebay can help get a lot of contacts but as of late I've been getting much BETTER contacts through CoinTalk, CoinBug and ensuing word of mouth. Treat people decent and they remember AND recommend you.

I'm selling in my spare time which isn't much. I offer pics, honesty and service. My sales are going up and my cost to sell is going down. Guess who I pass the savings on to?

I've got more ideas on the way and they don't involve ebay.

    It can be done.

    Not anymore......

    http://pages.ebay.com/services/forum/feedback.html

Square trade used to charge an annual fee to be a member and they would do feedback resolution. When I got negged by the crook Mark Feld and I busted, they wanted $35 per feedback to remove the negs I received. I told them to go , we'll I can't say what I told them....(the negs are gone now because the crook was kicked off Ebay )

I have not tried Coinbug due to the fact that they allow SGS slabs ( call me stupid but principled ) and CoinZip is a deadzone, so my alternative?
    Website.

Jason, best of luck buddy, and I hope you can stick Ebay bigtime, you are a class act in anybodys book, you do not need Ebay to succeed.

That is why he is the business man. If that neg costs him ONE bid every 100 items, it will wind up costing him several hundred dollars to over $1000 per year. And I think I am being very conservative with my estimates

AJ - Thanks! That is definitely good news.

Clembo - I think the key work is "compete". Those other sites like coinbug and bidville (which I think is now defunct) are "alternatives" to e-bay. They are in no way direct competition. Those sites are like the dozens of dealer websites - more or less fixed prices. Very similar to vCoins. The original poster did talk about competing with e-bay, not providing alternatives of which there are lots.

For someone like the original poster, how is coinbug an option? He already has an online store. Apparently e-bay (and that syle and exposure) is interesting enough to try to keep using it...

I, too, am not too happy with e-bay for lots of reasons. But it's always good to kill a few minutes (hours) cruising around. No one else offers that and I think that's the key.
