Rotated in holder? Reverse forward rather than obverse?

That it doesn't mention it was struck through something? (if it were struck through something? (can that even happen without anything else appearing on the coin? - Darn it..now I have to go find something to read on that).

and yes...where is the other side of the coin?

That's what i thought... wrong denomination. But hard to tell with no size comparison.

It is the correct weight for 1943 zinc coated steel planchet so I guess they either thought that was an error or forgot to say what the error is

The error is it's a blank planchet. It should not have gotten out without being struck.

Could it be the weight? Like 2.8 g instead of 2.7 g?

How do they know it is a 1943 US cent, aren't there other zinc coated coins minted by the US? They do not mention the diameter or size. Odd. Tell me JCro57!

No, the 1943 cent is the only US coin produced in zinc coated steel.

It may be a foreign planchet, but I'm not sure if the US mint struck any foreign coins in that composition. It is a rather unique composition.

The US mint struck 2 Franc coins for Belgium in 1944 with leftover steel cent planchets

Keeping in mind that both our slabs are definitely from the same mass submission 3866870.. Yours ending in 267 and mine in 129.. With so many labels to enter into their database there's bound to be a error in labeling. ;)
