What the heck are these? Google has nothing even close. I’m guessing these were attached to a wooden case - maybe a sterling flatware set? Thank you for any help! Merry Christmas everyone!
I successfully researched the date stamps from Birmingham England - Anchor symbol - Lion symbol - “U” = 1919. However, I was not able to find a match for the Makers Mark “MnWb”. One very knowledgeable representative from HA has never seen any similar items. He offered the idea that they could be school crests - Cambridge and Norfolk - rather than family crests. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
They are some sort of emblem that attached to something in the past. The screw holes are proof for that. Definitely Sterling but not worth the asking price on the reverse.
Okay and now we know who the maker was. Whether you can find out what they went to is another story! good luck!
I bet these guys would know! Email address at bottom: https://www.acsilver.co.uk/acsnews/2016/11/20/mappin-and-webb-silver/
Yep, looks like they buy items as well! Maybe not your pieces but surely they can tell you what they think they went to!
