    Jack,

I can get one just like it for you for a lot less money. Just as soon as I finish baking something in my oven. :mouth:

Neato. Sorry you didn't win. Wish I had a couple of dozen to sell ~ definitely a market out there. I was talking to a dealer at a show a couple of months ago and he said the toned market had died out (considering he had a case FULL and they weren't selling)... guess he needs to put them on Ebay.

How do you do that again? I tried the baked potato thing just because I hoped to be able to see coin in hand difference in natural toning vs baked toning. So I took a potato and loaded it with several different denominations (all common date, worn, etc) but nothing changed. Maybe I didn't bake long enough or hot enough? What's the setting :)

All I know was 'what's for dinner.. that sure smells good' took on a whole new answer at the CoinGal house that evening :)

coingal07: You've got to let the coins marinate in a vinigrette bechamel mixture prior to placing them in the potatoes. The mixture should be placed in the refrigerator overnight and then be placed in a pre-heated 375 degree oven.....hey, what's happening to me? Oh...sorry, my wife is playing some old Julia Child tapes .....I can hear her in the background.....Thank the Lord for CT.

    Jack,
No wonder you want that Lincoln, the coins they are showing look as if they have been tie-died.
Anyway, some coins will lose all their pretty colors if the surface is disturbed.
Some of the ones I boiled in a pot with baking soda did not hold their color
    well after being touched.

If someone wants to make a video showing how to bake these, I will happily post it up on Coin Talk for everyone to see. I can't figure out why these are worth anything more than the painted state quarters for example. On the other hand, I have a SAE sitting on my desk for the past seven years that has become nicely toned. Not baked, though, just a nice natural tone.

Nice looking penny, but not something I really look for. I wuld have been out bid by the very first bid - by a lot.

Wow!! Nice coin, since its slabbed by PCGS, i'll say natural toning. Wonder how it toned? As much as I don't like e-bay, I would have went $225.00 on that one. Don't think that one is AT.
