Same diameter, thickness, and weight as a Lincoln. Found it in a bag of wheats. Also has a lam error. Is this legit, or a weird coincidence?
I think the raised area between 2k and 3k would require examination in hand. However, I think the area to the left and slightly above that feature is a retained lamination.
The raised area you're talking about is what make me think it might not be worn. How could all of the other devices completely disappear, yet that lam area remain so elevated?
No need to send it. To expensive to do so. It looks like a Type 2 Blank Planchet with upraised rim. Weight is good also. IMHO I have some foreign blanks with no idea which country or denomination so anything is possible.
Years ago, I submitted a blank planchet to NGC that I found in a 1980 1c Mint bag. NGC rejected it. I guess my mistake was opening the bag, myself. Maybe I should have submitted the unopened bag with a minimum grade of MS70. Chris
Definitely a copper blank. Nothing else is going to weigh exactly that. As for the peel/crack. IDK. Could be a lam/delam and or damage. Paddy would know. Worth it in a bag of wheats since it's in the $3 area.
