1982 Lincoln cent- rim is doubled. Good find or fairly common???

    That occurs when the Die that is used to strike the blank planchets becomes worn.
    Nothing major.

    Called a Ridge Ring from more extreme die deterioration

    This is a great indicator found on any coin for die deterioration. You'll see all variants of it as you look.

    Is it a valid or collectible coin error? Is it insignificant and common?? Thank you for helping me. I’m as new to this as it gets. Thirsty for knowledge and needing lots of patient help. Much appreciated.

    Chris, does it look like a broad strike? Half of the rim is missing.

    Ridge ring and it's very common, especially on Zinc Cents.
