@spirityoda ....Words can not express how sorry I am for the loss of your Mother. You mentioned that she was not in pain when she passed and that is a great blessing. The loss of a loved one, especially one so close to you, is extremely difficult to bear at this time of the year. You, and all of your family, are in my thoughts tonight. My SS gift traveled a total of about 250 miles and arrived earlier this week. Looking forward to opening it on the 24th.

I wonder which packages win the award for furthest and shortest amount of travel...

 

Peanut insisted I open my SS gift so he could see what I got. Said it's under the tree and calling out to him! So I let him be happy and see it.

 

I got two 1970D halves (yay!)

Very cool! There is so much trench art made from early South Africa coinage. I guess during the Boer Wars, this was a popular pastime.

 

I recieved my package over a week ago and mine will make it to its destination beofore Christmas. I'm looking forward to Christmas!

Actually, you guys and gals do all the work Since it's my first time running it, I wanted to focus on it and make sure it went well. I have purchased a gift, but held onto it, should someone not get theirs. It's not a big deal; this is very rewarding in itself and gives me a chance to spread cheer to CT. I'll likely participate next year since I'll have figured out all the kinks from this one.

 

Hey, hey hey! My Secret Santa knows one of the mainstays of my collection. I wasn’t going to open until Christmas but the mail got soaked from a heavy rain, so I rescued the contents.

This is one nice Morgan dollar, Santa! Thank you. A great Christmas to you and all my friends here!

I just might have to open mine today. We will be traveling for Christmas so gonna open our gifts a little early this year.

 

I broke down and opened it and wow! I must've been a very good boy this year.!
Lets start with the coins on the black background.

All of these look to have natural toning on em. My camera does not do them justice.

1904-O Morgan Dollar (Rainbow toning), 1974-P Ike (Blue Album edge Toning), 1964-P WQ (Toned Reverse), and a 1952-S LWC also toned.

My SS also knew I collect US Minted World Coins. There were also 3 of these included and are on the right side in the 2x2s. From top to bottom a 1944-S Philippines 50 Centavos, a 1944-S Philippines 1 Centavo, and a 1915 Cuba Un Centavos.

And now the rest.

Top left in 2x2 is a Lord Of The Rings token by the Shire Post Mint. Just below that is a little device that my SS designed themself for examining coins. Just put em on there and use it to look at your coins instead of holding em in your hand. Much less chance of dropping them. What a great Idea.

Now Last but not least is the 1978 US Proof set. This one is extremely clear lacking the usual spots that appear on these. One of the best looking sets from this era I have seen.

I gotta say thanks to my SS. All of these will fit right into my collection nicely. It is obvious you did your homework.

Side note: I also received a package from a friend completely out of the blue and I will open it on Christmas as well.

The two numismatic gifts will likely be the coolest things I receive this year.
